The workers of CUPE local 2073 at the Canadian Hearing Society (CHS) have now been on strike for nearly 2 months. Join CHS workers and community allies to demand that the provincial government tell CHS management to negotiate a fair contract. What CHS workers are now going through is a testament to the accumulated effects of capitalist austerity, funding cuts, and contracting out of services that should be well funded and public.

The 8th Gil’s Hootenanny

Inspired by the legacy of Gil Levine, Monday, May 1st, 2017 will mark the 8th year for Ottawa’s Gil’s Hootenanny, the annual community sing-along celebrating the stories, struggles and victories of working people. Featuring; Moonfruits, the Hootenanny Band, Mark Evenchick, the 2017 Songwriting Contest winner, and special guests. MCs: Karen Flanagan McCarthy & Tony Turner.
