Save Our Door to Door Delivery! Leaflet Action at Ottawa City Hall this Wednesday Aug. 26th 9am
What: Leaflet action to save door to door mail delivery
Where: Ottawa City Hall, Lisgar St. doors (near Elgin St)
When: Wednesday, August 26th, 9am – 10am (or as long as you can stay!)
The Coalition for an Accessible Public Postal Service (CAPPS) invites all supporters of saving door to door to our first leaflet action at Ottawa City Hall thisWednesday, August 26, at 9am – 10am.
CAPPS activists have been building and mobilizing local opposition to the plan to eliminate door to door mail delivery for over a year through a series of neighbourhood canvases, Town Hall meetings, and our petition campaign. Our next step will be fighting for passage of a resolution of Ottawa City Council that they OPPOSE the elimination plan, thereby joining hundreds of other municipalities across the country.
Join us this Wednesday morning! CAPPS organizers will have copies of our bilingual colour leaflet, as well as clipboards with our petition to City Council. The full Ottawa City Council will meet at 10am that morning, so many Councillors, staff, and members of the public will be arriving over the course of this hour — let’s make it loud and clear to everyone attending that Ottawa says NO to eliminating door to door, and imposing Community Mailboxes where they are not wanted!
